I know what you mean. I've never been very confident in my skills in fanfiction writing (mainly because I don't think I could ever seriously write fiction in English, as it isn't my first language), but I could never start a novel-length fic. If I was still writing fanfiction actively, I'd probably write drabbles or ficlets. In original fiction I usually write vignettes or short scenarios.
Some people can just write a story of 100 pages and wonder why I'm struggling with something a little less than 6 pages long (not hand-written, Word-documents).

Most bizarre, it just sort of happened.
When inspiration strikes, it just does. Sometimes there's an idea that carries itself and writing it is very easy.
&After reading some of your fantastic works I also wish you'd get that more often. :]
