It's hard to put my finger on why, exactly, but I am more than halfway convinced that this is one of the best things I've read in this fandom. I think it might be how small it is, how ordinary the scene and the words, how plain and minimal your language is. It's far easier to do a big thing badly than it is to do a small thing well, and I'm taken aback by how real this feels. Something in my head is saying, Oh, yes. Those evenings. I always did hate that clock.


Nicely, nicely done. I'm glad [livejournal.com profile] untitled06 recced this. I'll reread it later tonight, I'm sure, and maybe have something more focused to say about it then.
