I cannot wait to see what you do for NaNoWriMo, because I have this feeling that your writing is ratcheting up in scale and quality and breadth before our very eyes - not that it weren't great to begin with, mind you - but like you're blossoming or something, and I know that's really patronising, but I say this as someone who thinks you're an absolute marvel, and it's a privilege to watch.
"Haven't seen you in here for an age." "Aeons," says Dom. "Millennia." "Good few months, anyway."
I love this! I love how it references all this vampire lore about immortals, and then you bring it back down to earthy and joking with a thud. Just like how you play with the lack-of-reflection, and not being able to eat, and being cold; you give them all a little twist, a Dom-twist, and I can't even articulate what you do it's so clever and tricksy.
And and and. And I love the way the encounter with Daniel is so shivery and drawn-out and I could feel every little detail, see every movement, and it's just yucky, but then you make it all better because you echo that slowness with Dom and Elijah but it's warm and it might be sad but it's friendly and right.

Okay I'll shut up now.
