Hello? Hello, yes, I don't know whether you can help me. I'm having a few problems with the um, 'career' I ordered from you and I'd like to send it back and go home now, please. Yes. Yes, that's right. Oh - and if possible, I'd like to spend the rest of my life in bed. Thanks. Sorry? Oh, ok.

*hums along to medley of popular TV theme tunes*

Ah, hello? Yes, hello. As I just explained, I'm calling because my job is shit and I want to go home now and never come back. Yes. Yes. Ah, I see. Hang on a minute, can I just get a pen? Thanks. Right, yes, go on. Right. Er, "I've made my bed, and ... now I've got to go away and..." Sorry, what was that? Ah, "go away and lie on it". Got it. Yes, I see. Well, thanks very much for your help. Yes. Fuck you too! Bye now!

Welcome to the "I Hate My Job" club. We meet every 3rd Wednesday in the month for beer and popcorn. Helmets will be worn. Bring your hooded look.

Cool! Is it ok if I mumble incoherently into my glass about how much I hate everybody?

Of course, I'll probably join you.

Heheh, would it be bad if I [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes'd this and people sympathized?

Heh, no, that would be fine. Course, they might just tell me to stop whinging, not that I'd blame them.

Hey man, you dealt with your work angst far more cleverly than I did. I'm just now figuring a subtle way to post them dog poo to illustrate my concerns with their organizational skills.

Oh, too boring to go into in great detail. Someone walked out without giving any notice, old resentments were stirred up, and I seem to have had a whole pile of crap dumped on me, on top of my real job, which I now squeeze in around my important new duties as office monkey. None of which I know how to do, and I'm desperately trying to remember everything because I'm going to be pretty much on my own when I do it next month.

Hm. So much for not going on...

How many bosses do you have?
Any office that dares to call itself "productive", which they aren't, have at least 5 bosses. Underneath these are underbosses, under them are employees, under them are peeons, and under them is my job.
The reality of Job-suckage never struck home until I saw a re-run of "Office Space" on the TV and I could relate to EVERY SINGLE WORD.
First slavery,
Next, came the Dark Ages,
Then the Great Depression,
And now the Office.
At least we don't work in the next terrible phase of social evolution.

We've only the two bosses here, which is more than enough for me. There was another one, but he was forced to semi-retire due to senility and madness.
