Here I am again, posting when I've got a large backlog of emails and comments to answer, and posts to comment on. I would like you to know that I currently have 32 tabs open in Firefox. These include:

LJ community posts to read or comment on: 3
Knitting patterns/help: 3
Googles searches on ancient Assyrian artworks: 1
Stuff about broadband: 2
Fic to read: 6
Friends' posts to read or comment on: 15
LJ Friends Page: 1
Other people's picspam: 1
Picture of monkey: 1

I am aware that this appears to add up to 33.

Privileged people on my Friends List whose posts currently await my attention include the following: (in alphabetical order): [livejournal.com profile] birdgerhl, [livejournal.com profile] cherrysher, [livejournal.com profile] ineke, [livejournal.com profile] izzles, [livejournal.com profile] kitchencynic, [livejournal.com profile] lobelia321, [livejournal.com profile] lugna_vatten, [livejournal.com profile] pandarus, [livejournal.com profile] thamiris, [livejournal.com profile] sparcck, [livejournal.com profile] zarah5.

Here is the picture of the monkey. I was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] the_oscar_cat to make him out of socks.

As you can see, he is about as cross-eyed as it is possible for a monkey to be. Behind him is my Friends Page, at the top of which is a post by [livejournal.com profile] ashkitty. My dog monkey has no nose name. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

This is a weird post, isn't it?

ps. I am bad and have bought an iPod off eBay, and it is pink, and I don't care, because I wanted a pink iPod and now I am going to have one. Ha!

How about Stanley, Albert, Ted, Oswald, Clarence [because of cross-eyes], Graham?

I rather like Graham, meself.

Hi, Duckie! Hi! He's lovely, by the way. :)

So cute! Your monkey is very very funky and I lurve it. *nods* As for names.... Oh, I'm bad at that... Right, here's a silly suggestion. How about Robbie because of the song?

I was just at the park admiring ducks, and then I came to livejournal, and there was this poem and yourself.

Fly My Duck
by Andrew Lux

We must accept the duck as a bag.
The plastic is a new feather.
Fly my duck. Today I carry my
duck to the end of the narrative.
We jump from the conflict into resolution.
I twist his neck and he just pours out
of himself a hundred gold eggs.
I can use him as a bag to carry the eggs.
Cheater. You will never accept this duck
because I never will. If the duck could
speak it would say the feather tastes like
a swollen foot. The duck offers its body
as a bag, the way any god-fearing duck
of western climes would do.

For some inexplicable reason I am drawn to the name Minkie for the monkey who, I might add, is a Work Of Art.

As for the Ipod - well why the hell not? Pink is even better. Well done.

oh good grief, is there no end to your talent. the monkey's name is sam. you are wonderful. i envy your ability to capitulate to the iPod covetousness, as i try, but am basically too ineluctably miserly to get one.

Best monkey ever! He looks like he has a real affinity for bananas.

There is an eery likeness to my former manager; Chiel. Except my former manager didn't smile apart from that it's a spitting image.
I didn't want to insult you sock puppet though I'm sure it's a lot smarter than Chiel is and more friendly and human too. As for spending money on the I pod I have to say I don't agree with the general consensus it was a wise investment. The next time you have some money left I would suggest considering the Tonde appreciation fund.

yes, the Peter Sellers' minky has my vote. The star on its chest remind me of Eddie Izzard, and the redness, of Stalin.

In high school sewing class I made a pig out of gingham and some stuffing once...he was a bit lame. Your monkey is top notch! He wears a star better than Eddie does, that's for sure. :)
