Not been online much recently - have been very busy wallowing under the Damp Duvet of Despair, not to mention the Pillows of Self-Pity, and the Blankets of Bloody Awful Badness. I apologise to anyone who's come into contact with me over the past few days. Anyway, probably best not to dwell on my state of mind, because it's blah-de-boring-blah. And reading about the whole Andre Schneider debacle cheered me up a bit. Cos, you know, at least I'm not him.

New Housemate D has come to Livejournal! You will note that dandywalker has made an excellent start by making two consecutive posts on the subject of porn. Well done, dandywalker!

Random good vibes (whatever they are) to lobelia321, who appears to be undergoing some terribly frustrating struggles with technology, and also hjartad, just because. I'm off now to soothe myself by reading Mansfield Park. Sometimes I really do wish I could just go back in time and marry Jane Austen.

Interesting article in today's Observer, about Stephen Frears' new film, The Deal, which is about the relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Ooh, the intrigue!

Given the current disclosure of intimate emails and the level of semantic quibbling about the Government's veracity, I wonder if he had any qualms about producing a knowingly fictional version of real events. Was he worried about the boundaries between truth and rumour? 'In this kind of thing,' he says, with some certainty, 'you just have to draw your own line, trust your own judgment or else you would go mad.'
