That was Jake the Bloodthirsty and Reticent. Damn good pirate, didn't say much.
I saw aphids today! A whole bunch of them live in this picnic table in the garden of the building where I work. Some were a kind of soft mint green colour, some a light brown. All different sizes. They walked around a lot. Then a wasp came along and I was startled. I accidentally spilt some water all over Jane Austen and had to sponge her down with my sleeve. After that, I went back inside, having had quite enough of the wonders of nature for one day.
Thank you for all your attempts to be boring and dull-witted recently. It's very much appreciated.
ETA: In case you were wondering, the above isn't intended as a subtle dig, it's a completely sincere expression of thanks. I requested dullness and several people took the time to stop by and be boring for me, which was so kind.
