NaNoWriMo -- I have written the grand total of 20 words. GO ME!!!

I have still not answered all the comments I meant to answer -- sorry, everyone. *smacks self in head*

I've got to go back to work tomorrow. I want more holiday! :(

I signed up for Yuletide. Um.

The Two Lines fic -- is going to go on forever, but at least it's going on. I think.

Inspired by some of the requests on Yuletide, I went searching and found, you know, one of them bad 'n' wrong fandom places (well, it was for me anyway) and am still trying to scrub myself clean.

[livejournal.com profile] dandywalker and I went to see The Divine Comedy last night and it was purely magic and wonderful and fab. :) And it made me very happy. (Apart from the two most annoying people in the world, who stood in front of us). And the support were the great Duke Special, who make very effective use of the cheese grater and whisk, and should be checked out most immediately.

I spent three hours looking for boots that would zip up over my calves. It made me want to cry. In the end I caved and bought ankle boots.

20 words... Oh, I do suck. Still, at least I know what it's going to be about now. It's the story of a cat who lives in a cage and plays the blues on his saxophone and tells creepy stories to his visitors.

NaNo ... I have written a hundred words. Explaining that whatever I write, it's not going to be a novel. That was yesterday, and of course now it's tomorrow and I haven't written today's words. Or any of my coursework. Umm. Eek. I think the coursework's going to be closer to fiction than anything else I write this month.

Hmm, oh well. If I actually manage to write anything this month, I'll count it as a bonus.

Yuletide is freaking me out a bit though. That sort of actually matters. :[

Boots:

i have big calves and managed to get some great suede boots from jones the bootmaker last year. maybe suede is more forgiving. Jaq got here boots at John Lewis' (<3) and they fit like a dream.

REMEMBER: Boots for normal sized people DO exist, and when you find a pair, they are wonderful and you'll never want to take them off. (or something.)

*hug*

As for the writing: i've seen you make 20 words count far more than 2000 words, so i say, don't sweat it.

In other news: back in the day, when he was all young and long haired (http://wendylynchphotography.com/neilhannonpage.html)

What Katie said, re the boots! She will attest to the hours of trying on pairs that wouldn;t go halfway up my calves. :(

A good place to try [oddly enough] are Evans or try Clarks or the Scholl shop, they all have boots with wider tops.

I was talking to Mel about Yuletide last night and she was trying to tempt me in but I am strong! I resisted its siren lure! If you find yourself stuck or need anyeon to ramble on about it to, then I am always happy to try and help. :)

As you can see from the icon, I am living in hope. ;)

Well, I've become quite fond of my odd ankle boots already - v. comfy!

I'm feeling cautiously excited about my Yuletide assignment, although not sure what I'm going to do exactly. Could be interesting! I shall certainly take you up on the offer of ramblement, as I seem to remember you were Very Helpful last time. :)

Those high boots make your legs sweat anyway, don't worry about it. I have reasonably nice normal shaped legs (as I'm sure you do too) and I can't get them to zip up comfortably either. I think they're made for stick-women. Or if you really like the high ones, you can go for the micro-fiber stretchy kind. Or you can do like I do, abandon the whole think all together and wear sneakers or chukka boots.

I have quite small feet but not particularly thin calves, this seems to be the problem. However, I'm getting very fond of the ankle boots I went for in the end - v comfy but smart enough for work = me happy. :)

urgh! footwear are the bane of my existence. i'm still stuck in my docs from 10 years ago, though they are falling apart, because i can't find anything that (a) i like (b) will fit me and (c) i can afford.

Aw, I still have my docs somewhere. They are slightly blue, because I decided to paint them once.
