Blythe told me to read "In a Dark Wood" and I did, and knew immediately it was by you, though she hadn't said.

I loved it on a great many levels. I tried to give you feedback before, and failed, cos I couldn't think of what I wanted to say, and I still don't know, but maybe that's the answer right there. A true fairy tale just creeps into your unconscious and grows there, dark and plush, like ferns and moss.

Loved it. You're such a talent.

Well, if that doesn't count as a lovely thing to say, I don't know what does. Thank you so much. :)

Incidentally though, I seem to have had terrible trouble giving feedback lately - often I've just sat there thinking, 'well that was brilliant, it deserves something better than 'cool!' but I don't know what to say. And when people come along and say intelligent, perceptive stuff about my stories, it makes it worse! I think giving feedback is an art in itself.
