I've lost my bloody USB memory stick key pen flash drive thing. It was nice and it had Stuff on it. But look how positive I am being. Good things:

* I have old versions of some things.
* I am too lazy to have much to lose
* Now I will be forced to write new stuff
* I use my notebook sometimes
* Am in fandom, therefore most definitive versions of finished things are on LJ YAY LJ!
* That novel plan was a) not particularly detailed, b) not very good c) I can remember some of it.

*SIGH*

You know what else is annoying me today? Last night I watched that film America's Sweethearts. To the end. Ok, I went away in the middle and did some other stuff for a bit, but still. It was rubbish. DAMN YOU JOHN CUSACK!!!

ARGH! Oohhhhh, I hate when I lose stuff like that. Is it possible it will turn up somewhere?

But you're being very positive. And it's good that you have things in other places--on LJ and in print. And it is honestly true that sometimes if something wasn't quite working that just starting fresh with the ideas you remember will make it turn out even better than it would have otherwise.

Still, I know it suuuucks!

John Cusack does some wildly divergent material. "Must Love Dogs" was not the treat I was expecting, either. Ugh. I have higher hopes for the scary movie he's got out now...

It's always possible it might still turn up, I suppose. I just can't imagine where!

This is true. It's quite annoying. I just checked out that film on IMDb - mm, interesting, even if it does look as though it might have a spooky child in it (spooky children are so 2006 you know). And he does seem to work quite a lot, doesn't he? There's got to be at least one good apple amongst that lot!

I congratulate you on your very positive attitude! Maybe you'll find your USB key. I hope so.

I feel less positive every time I remember something that was on there that I will never see again *sob*

But still positive!

This is great. You are being so positive!

I lost two hours of notes in t'reference library. The annoying thing is that somebody found my spiral notepad and put it in the lost and found tray. A friend told me about it; she recognised the pad because it has my name on it in capital letters. When I returned, the pad had gone from the tray! The librarian remembered seeing it there but didn't know who had taken it. Isn't that mean? some mean person stole my notes because, what, they needed paper?

That's terrible, who would do such a thing? It is somewhat soul-destroying. I just remembered today there were some writing exercises on it, and a whole thing about an undertake who wanted to bury the Queen, and a thing about one of my characters in an airport talking about his agoraphobia.

Well, I'll just have to write them again and they'll be better. *hanging onto positivity by skin of teeth*

The other thing is - it's kind of creepy. Virtually every fic I'd ever written or was in the process of writing was on that stick. Now, anyone could be reading them...

There's a story in that, I just know there is. So-and-so finds a data stick and sticks it into his/her laptop and finds all this stuff which sets up a mystery and perhaps there is Deep Darkest Sekrit information in that data stick and this could lead either to a thriller plot or to a romance plot or to BOTH.

Ooh! I'd do this if I could find someone to work out the plot for me. Bloody plots. There should be a computer program to make complicated plots for when you can't be bothered. There probably is!

Chapter 1: Character A goes about life and reveals characterisation. Has several red-herring plots, like wrong love interest / wrong job.
Chapter 2: A finds datastick.
Chapter 3: A tries to look at datastick but is foiled by various obstacles (work requirements, noisy others, power outage)
Ch.4: A puts datastick in and finds weird stuff X.
Ch. 5: Unconnected plot element: curtains in love.
Ch. 30: The mystery of X is resolved. A has ditched wrong love interest and taken up with right love interest who is owner of datastick.

That's your plot!! Chapters 6-29 will take care of themselves. Easy peasy!

Oh no, what a pain, you must be quite pissed off, I know I would be!

Have you looked on E-buyer recently, they have some very cheep and large capacity pen drives, think of this as an opportunity to upgrade to an amazing new specification and WOW us all!
