Notes to self

Note to self: when writing notes to self, make sure self will understand them. For instance, who knows wtf this means:

milk - shop lady

milk - future - death

bath

fades like dreams

war

forever - different answer

Yeah...

Some of those sound like lines from poems. I really like forever - different answer and milk - future - death makes me think of Paul Celan.

I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of Paul Celan, but having just looked him up on Widipedia, he appears to be someone I definitely need to read. Thank you!

Er... Wikipedia... don't know what a widipedia is.

I hope you like him! :D Most people start of with "Black Milk" which was the poem you made me think of.

I'm becoming increasingly afraid that being friends with me means you end up with a reading list. I'm sorry!

Fascinating insight into your mind there, Ducklet. I tend to have this same problem when I am at work and then have to wander around asking my colleagues if they have any idea what the hell I was on about?! Hee

Your notes are far more poetic than mine, though. *sigh*

I bet yours makes sense when you unravel them, though.

Incidentally, today is the day when I Clean the House. Which explains why I'm sitting here on the sofa in my pyjamas, replying to comments.

I think you're on to something shel! Do you know Andrew Bird's song 11:11?
"Standing by the window
Glass of milk in his hand
What could I have done what could I have said
Broken glass spilled milk lying on the floor looking dead
"

I'd never heard of Andrew Bird, but I've just scooted to his MySpace page, and I really like what I've heard.

Wow, all I did was post a bunch of rubbish, and I got back new poetry and music to explore! I love my flist. :)
