I've crawled out of the low mood I was in from Sunday to Thursday, which is very yay, and have done some nice things. Went to St Edmundsbury Cathedral with my mum, to see (well, hear, really) the Tallis Scholars singing Palestrina and Tavener, among other things. They were pretty darn amazing. Then spend Friday evening with friends and some bottles of wine in the very nice, tiny Indian restaurant round the corner from my flat. Mmm, food. And today I've been down at [livejournal.com profile] curiousworld's allotment, where I dug up a bed of stubborn leeks. Then we ate some of them and I took some home. Mmm, leeks. :) Also blisters, to prove how hardworking I am.

Also recently received my electricity bill. :( Will be eating cold food by candlelight for the rest of the year.

Why do they charge us so much for electricity?

Because we are parasites sucking the life-blood out of the planet -- and we don't yet pay anything like what we owe for living in big blocks of wood and concrete and brick and burning up fuel rippped from the earth to allow us to feel toasty in winter and cool in summer and to eat stuff grown for us half-a-world-away and to stay up well after dark or to work inside windowless offices to accomplish our frankly unnecessary tasks that we've convinced ourselves and our bosses are justified and worthy of payment...

okay. not going any further down that logical path. for obvious reasons.

perhaps i need to get outside and stop moping about the house? right.

Aren't the Tallis Scholars marvellous?!! I'm hideously jealous of you. Also about the Indian food, which I have to cook for myself if I wish to have any.

I'm in denial about my eventual electricity bill. It could come any day, and I'm sure it will be an ugly surprise, energy costs being what they are.

I'm glad you are feeling better.

I used to grow leeks on my allotment back when I was a fully fledged human being!!

In 1 month I will be gardening and painting again!! I am looking forward to being a normal person!!

Glad you escaped the low mood, and the Tallis Scholars were in good form!
