Since my last post, I did some things. Such as the following:
Walked around Bury St Edmunds with
lobelia321. (Actually this was before my last post, but let's not worry about that. So this is three days of things, if you're counting) Had lunch in a tearoom with a piano and chandeliers and waitresses dressed as waitresses.
Did my shopping and then communed with the young duck and coot families in the park. Those drakes are absolute terrors.
Talked to a friend over a garden wall.
Applied nematodes to my soil, mowed the lawn and repotted some lemon balm.
Cleaned some of my house.
Sat down and started watching Come Dine With Me to avoid hoovering.
Became incensed by Come Dine With Me and started hoovering again.
Cooked a thing.
Did my ironing and watched Brooklyn Nine Nine and caught up on Game of Thrones.
Read some fic.
Read some book.
Got on a train and accidentally travelled in first class but nobody checked my ticket so it was fine.
Went for a walk in a bluebell wood with my mother. The woodland can be traced back to the year 1251, when the Bishop of Ely did a survey.
As well as bluebells, identified the following in the wood and churchyard: stitchwort, bugle, celandine, cowslip, yellow archangel, lords and ladies.
Went to look at the church but it was locked. There was a notice on the door with the names of the rector and churchwarden. My mum: "Oh, he's a nice man. I once gave a sermon about a judge and I made him wear a bathmat on his head."
Partook of a large roast dinner.
Annoyed a broody hen.
Read about the history of Bury St Edmunds. There was a good bit about Vikings and Canute's dad having a vision, but I forget the details now, or at least can't be bothered to type them.
Ended up watching Victoria Coren's big poker victory online. It was very exciting, even though I had no idea what was going on. I quite liked that, it reminded me of laying out the bridge column at work. I find it all - the sheer impenetrability of the language and actions, the clinking chips, the little pictures of cards and numbers - rather soothing.
Tweeted nonsense about the poker game.
Knitted along to the poker game.
Then the poker commentator read out one of my nonsense tweets on the live stream. I can honestly say that is not something I thought was going to happen today when I woke up.
Ate most of my Gruffalo Easter egg.
Typed this list and went to bed (I am now projecting into the future).

It was very surreal! We thought the commentator guys were quite idiotic, but it *was* exciting even so, and very funny. :) I have two Twitter accounts so I can pretend to be normal on one of them.

My current office was orchards 30 years ago. Prune, probably.

I walked around the front of my office the other day and noticed a plaque saying it was the site of a pre-conquest church. Only I couldn't remember which one so I Googled it but had to give up because apparently you can't swing a cat in Norwich without hitting the site of some pre-conquest church or other...
