REQUEST FOR HELP:
I realise this is something of a long-shot, but does anyone want to beta/vaguely check just under 12,000 words of Historical Farm RPS?

*tumbleweed, tumbleweed*

Anyway. Two things are making me feel better about the coming-soon-ish month of December, which is my nemesis.

LIST:
1. My friend-colleague heard me moaning about December so often that he bought me a Marvel Comics chocolate advent calendar from Wilkinson's as a surprise. THIS HAS GENUINELY IMPROVED MY DECEMBER PROSPECTS AT LEAST THREEFOLD. Speaking of Marvel, I am grateful to my brain for suddenly plunging headfirst into this obsession about a year ago, because otherwise I'd be feeling really out of step with the entire Internet right now, and probably quite grumpy.

2. I'm really looking forward to Yuletide. I'm not actually doing it, and I always end up overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of fic in the end - but I love that you can read people's letters here - this is fantastic for a very nosy and slightly judgmental person like me. :D I feel quite excited now, I think I'm going to replace actual rubbish Christmas with Yuletide.

(I then continue numbering the following things, forgetting what my list was originally about):

3. I am doing NaNoWriMo again this November. I have even met other people doing it, like, outside of the Internet - they exist! This Saturday, we march on the cafes of Ipswich. (I don't mind about winning, I just want to use it to get a thing started that I've been vaguely planning since July.)

4. Look at me posting. I exist. LJ exists. DW exists. You probably exist. All is well, children.

1. I would totally read farm fiction for you. I don't know anything about Historical Farm and my grasp of spelling leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm pretty good at saying, "This sentence sounds really awkward."

2. Marvel is great. I fucking hate December though, more and more the older I get. So if you want to be grumpy about it together, I am so here for that.

3. Actually, Marvel isn't THAT great. I'm still gutted about Black Widow.

4. It's EXCITING that you're doing NaNo. I did it once [actually maybe twice?] I remember writing 60k about gay 18th century chefs anyway, it was a magical time. GOOD LUCK.

1. Oh would you? You are a star! :D Would you prefer a link to a Google doc or an attached Word doc?

2. Bah, stupid month! I'm only going to get through it at all via a strict regime of fic and chocolate.

3. Marvel sucked me in, but it sure has its issues... :( (((Black Widow))). I am reading Captain Marvel though - I like the writing a lot more than the art - but it has lady pilots, plural! Like Code Name Verity! :)

1. I would prefer attached Word doc. I have yet to figure out Google docs because I am Bad at Things. You have my email address? It's justwolf[at]ymail.

2. I am excited that you read Code Name Verity! Lady pilots! Lots of crying! I recommend Rose Under Fire very strongly too.

3. I will check out Captain Marvel at some point, I trust your Marvel recs.

1. Ok, I have sent you the doc, let me know if any probs. <3

2. It was so great! I'm still thinking about it, and I learned so much about lady pilots and spies in the war. Rec noted, thank you! :)

I know it's only day 4, but I am excited to know how it went at the cafes of Ipswich.

I would also love to help you with the beta, but I am crap at fiction AND farms :(
