Hahaha! A new philosophy is born. Repeat after me, devotees of Blame Elijah:

"It's. All. Elijah's. Fault."

Come to think about it, I can actually trace my whole slash-addiction right back to seeing a picture of the little scamp in a magazine the summer before last. Yup. All Elijah's fault.

i watched FOTR and did a search for "are frodo and sam gay?"

and came up with some nice lotr slash.

Form there it was but a skip and a jump to elijah slash.

See, totally his fault....

Aha, you're kidding? I did almost the same thing, although I went the long way round - saw Elijah in the magazine, thought - ooh, may have to see this film and become obsessed, better finish reading the books first, read the books, put "frodo sam" in a search engine, and the rest is, well, as you say...
