Was finally persuaded to see Chicago last night, seeing as how it's best film and all. Well. Catherine? Renee? I take it all back. Well, maybe not all - I still don't actually like either of you - but it must be said that I want to have Roxie and Velma's little tiny glittery babies. Except, you know, not.

Yes, I liked Chicago. It was fun and sparkly and sexy and Queen Latifah, and Richard Gere not getting the girl (ha!) and it put a smile on my face that lasted all the way to Newsnight. So ok, Catherine. Maybe you deserved the Oscar. But I still wish it had gone to (beeyootiful, lovely in green dress) Julianne, so there.

In other news, I need to leave the house in a minute. Because if I don't I shall be arrested for attempting to shove the hoover down a certain person's throat. Somebody is having a cleaning frenzy day. Cleaning frenzy tends to go along with having Radio 1 turned up to 11, and singing that Tatu song ad nauseum at the top of one's voice. So it's a good thing I'm not actually trying to DO ANY WORK OR ANYTHING. Isn't it?

Don't you just want to sashay around in sparkles? I loved Chicago, mainly because I thought it gave the feeling of dancing around - that energy and joy.

My condolences about the hoovering...although the alternative is to live in a slightly crumbly world...i.e. no body does it!!! :) well, only when absolutely necessary....hmmmmm.....pop songs full blast....at least you'd be rushing to finish!!

I know. I don't really begrudge people cleaning the house, or want to live in a mess, either. I just get a bit fed up with sharing sometimes - I'm a moany old so-and-so.

I haven't seen the film, but someone told me that Catherine Zeta Jones clomped about like an 'elegant carthorse' in it – did you think so?
