Moods a-swingin' like an emotional yoyo today. Ooh, it's quite tiring, I do declare!
Just came back from a peace vigil in the town centre. It was sort of on the er... subdued side, I must admit. Just a handful of Quakers and a dog and a lady selling the Socialist Worker. At one point a mild argument about tenses broke out. Was is appropriate to have badges saying 'Don't attack Iraq' when Iraq has already been attacked? "It's like," said one girl, "if you hit me, I could still say 'don't hit me.'" "No you wouldn't," said her stepfather. "You'd say, 'Don't hit me again.'" Eventually they agreed on 'Not in my name' instead. At 6:00 they packed up their candles and placards and we all went home. Feels better than doing nothing though.
