Oh. My. Gods.

Wow. That's just incredible, the way you took on an undead's pov and really worked it the entire way through the story, from the mirrors to the scents and the awareness of life to the difference between undead and deader, as Dom says. You weave it into everything, and it turns out so marvelously, it's like existing in another world for the complete span of the story. Your descriptions...blue underwater cave...pumpkin-shaped fairy lights... make the world come to life through the narrative, and such a fascinating, fabulous world it is. All of your characters are well-drawn, especially the original ones, and I am utterly in awe of the fact that you not only created this brilliantly unique world, but you populated it with characters just as brilliant and unique. And then the actual confrontation...oh, from the very first I knew something was wrong, and then it just got more and more wrong, but your storytelling was so incredible, I just got sucked in and couldn't stop holding my breath. And when Dom broke away...when he almost didn't...when he came home and found Elijah... *deep breath* Just amazing. Truly. Brilliant job, and thank you.

Ha. Finally I get around to answering! Thanks so much for this lovely feedback - it really means a lot to me. I think this story is probably the one I'm most proud of, and still have a lot of affection for. I'm particularly thrilled that you thought the orig characters worked, because I loved writing them and making them interact with this not-quite Dom and not-quite Elijah. Writing this story and this world is some of the most fun I've had ever while writing (omg, worst sentence ever but you know what I mean). The scenes and the characters felt completely real to me, in a way I don't think I'd quite experienced before, and I'm so happy to think that they read that way too. Yay!
