I feel like someone used my brain to wash the dishes. I might dig a hole later and bury myself in it. Um. Yes. Novel currently languishes at around the 16,000 mark, which is about 6,000 words down. Was going to try and catch up today, but brain says no. Too busy being weird and freaking out about nothing, apparently. Oh, I irritate myself, I really do.

Anyway, but does anyone else think Elijah looks like Albert Steptoe in this picture? It's really quite remarkable.

It is kind of scary. It cheered me up though, because it was just such an incredibly stupid picture.

Ha! Yes, that photo shoot certainly was a unique exercise in looking crap.

Why torture yourself over the number of words you have writ (or have I missed summat?)

Oh and he looks more like Les Dawson, in my opinion. Nice haircut, tho!

Ah, well I'm doing this National Novel Writing Month challenge thing, where I'm supposed to write a 50,000 word novel by the end of November.

Les Dawson eh? Yes, it's the gurning, isn't it?

might add a paragraph and a raison d'etre.
In my international, multiply-translated thriller about New Russians, stolen Faberge eggs, and a nail salon, I make full use of the dramatic nature of deflated airbeds and urge you to do the same. No one will know...

Dear Poule,

Thank you for your invaluable suggestion. I wish to read your masterpiece, please. Where can I purchase a copy?

Thanks for enquiring after me! I note you've not been around much either *g*. It's beneficial now and again, I think. And that would be a first for me, actually. I've only had th enforced kind of 'now and again' before. But I'm telling you: nothing much like fear of job loss to focus the mind and make everything else recede into secondary position. I might make a post to assure everyone I'm alive. Although my counsellor pointed out that I seemed to be very fearful of upsetting people all the time and worrying them -- so maybe I won't, using mental health as my alibi.

At least I've got something fantastic to read: Ann-Marie MacDonald, The Way the Crow Flies.

I will txt you anon!!!

Hooray, she is alive! :)

No, you're right though -- sometimes LJ tries to eat you alive and you have to beat it back and show it who's boss. Holiday from fandom, or something. Anyway, glad to hear yours is proving beneficial.

At least I didn't flounce off and delete... thereby giving everyone the heebie jeebies. But for the first time evah it did cross my mind! Ack. *stares at own brain and wonders what is happening to it*

In other news, I had to clear out my study to make way for the staircase to the loft conversion (builders, builders everywhere) and came across simply stacks of pics and fics of my pre-slash life: all depicting or describing origchar boys kissing, fucking, blowing, you name it.

I do not think this is an obsession that will leave me for long...

Hm, I've been feeling a bit weird and distanced from fandom and LJ lately. So I'm glad you didn't delete, as I might have taken it as a sign and done the same thing. And then we'd probably both have come crawling back feeling silly.

No, it rather looks as though you're stuck with it.

Fantastic about your novel, btw -- simply the keeping going and stamina.
