Fic writing meme, stolen from
gabbyhope:
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would?
Yes. But I wish I'd written more. I can hardly bear to think of all the hours I wasted staring out of the window, noodling around on the internet, watching crap cable channels, staring into the fridge, staring at the wall, etc. It's just appalling.
What pairing/genre/fandoms did you write that you would never have predicted in january 2003?
Most of them. But specifically, I suppose Buttons/Prince Charming, Chicago, Cherie Blair/Clare Short, LotR/James Herriot AU and of course Aphid Experts.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
All Souls.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
What, you mean apart from actually doing the writing in the first place? Um...
Timed improvs, from which I learnt that I can do timed improvs, but don't necessarily have to.
Getting something betaed, from which I learnt that it can be very helpful and interesting, but that I'm still too lazy and stubborn to do it most of the time, and that I should probably do it more often, but I don't really feel obliged to do it, and don't really think anyone else should feel obliged to do it either. *takes deep breath*
Doing NaNoWriMo was a major risk, and I learnt that I am currently not capable of writing a novel. But that I am capable of writing more words than I ever thought I would in a relatively short space of time. And that planning is a good idea, but I find it difficult and boring.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
Take more and different risks.
Talk to people more.
Work harder, but be less impatient.
Write original fiction, and feel as happy doing it as I do writing fanfic.
Remember to post to lists once in a while.
Just write more, for god's sake. And finish the thousand and one WIPs.

Your wrong
What if Stalin stared in his fridge and waisted so much time he didn't have time to starve a large part of the population?
What if Saddam decided not to gas his own people but checked his fridge for frozen pizza's and sorta forgot all about it?
Be careful what you wish as the fairy said to the drowning man in a swimming pool of golden coins. Tonde
Re: Your wrong
*feels chastened and humbled*
*goes to stare in the fridge*
I'm wrong
Someone should force them to stare at the fridge and make think about themselves as naughty boys and make them repent.
I hope you will stop staring at the fridge long enough to realize, and I think I speak for all her, that we would all have you rather not staring at the fridge but instead write stories cos they are fun. Tonde

But truly I've done a HELL of a lot more writing this year than I ever thought possible and actually managed to *complete* four pieces of decent length since about April or May, which I think is a record for me!! *pats self on back* You've certainly written quite a bit, and varied and wonderful pieces, too, so you should feel you've done well! Good that you have goals to do more, too...I will be here prodding you with a large pointed stick, just to help. :P
Here's to a prolific New Year!! *cheers*

Happy New Year, Shriney! xx :)
