I've got a cold!

Well, all right, it's nearly gone, but I still deserve and need sympathy! Yes I do.

And I played in the pick-an-icon-belonging-to-someone-else-and-write-a-drabble-or-ficlet-in-the-comments meme. And I ended up writing the tiniest scraplet of something that apparently likes to think it's Brokeback Mountain RPF. In kohaku1977's journal, here. Actually.

My cold has now reached the stage where I'm not sneezing all over the place any more, so I'm expected to go back to work. meh. I'm sure I still shouldn't be anywhere near food or members of the public, but it's busy. [pity me. MEEEE. heh]

Hope you're feeling better, and here is a drabble for you, for your 'Vacant' icon.

The tiny window beneath the door latch read 'Occupied,' and she wanted to scream.

The plane swayed and rocked its way through a bump on an invisible road. She reached out to hold on to the wall of the lavatory, wishing her stomach would stop churning, that her head would stop throbbing, and that her brain would stop thinking.

What do I do? What can I do? What am I capable of? Absently, she rubbed one hand across her still-flat stomach. Her stomach still churned. Her head still throbbed. And she couldn’t stop thinking.

With a click and a thunk, the lock slid free and the sign said 'Vacant.'

Thanks, Vix! Nice to know all my icons aren't absolutely, utterly barren and uninspiring. ;) I really like this a lot, it's full of layers and the sicky, icky atmosphere is frighteningly authentic.

Beer? refrigerator? Island somewhere in front of the coast of Greenland? Body chopped to pieces in your deep freezer?
Anyway your new icon combined with the fact you tell us you can't write makes me suspect you have to hold your ears cos they are dropping off if you don't hold them too your head. This seems to me the only logical explanation for holding your hands to your head and not writing. Writing off course becomes a tad bit difficult cos you have to type with your nose. I had that for a while I advise you not to be ashamed about it. It's a fairly common disease with an alarming increase ever since mariah carey started to sing but it took on epidemic proportions when britney speers career took off.
Drink lots of fluids and avoid britney and mariah as much as possible.
Well I hope you do recover fast and hope you resume writing cos I'm still enjoying "out of the box thinking" and "table /" but that's while ago and I need a new Sheldrake fix.
