Ok, the story's done, now I'm just sort of hovering over the 'submit' button. I've only read it 238 times, what if I missed something omg? It's scary, man!

ps. do you like this SCARY icon? It's the Mari Llwyd, as seen in The Dark is Rising.

ETA: not quite sure how I accidentally disabled comments there, but never mind.

How long did you all take to recover at the weekend. You looked lovely, by the way.

We were somewhat fragile on Sunday and spent most of the day in bed.

But it was worth it, we had a brilliant time.

Hello there (and thank you)! Well, I think I've sort of just about recovered. More or less. It may be a while before I can look another cocktail in the eye though. It was so nice to see you and Drew, and I seem to remember we had a great chat (Lungbarrow!), although whether any of it made much sense I have very little idea...

Glad you enjoyed yourselves, anyway. :)

What I usually do is: write the first draft, print out, edit, send second draft to beta, edit again, attempt to post third draft, NOTICE A HUNDRED MISTAKES AND WEIRD THINGS, panic, go back and change it 50 million times, have terrible urge to rewrite entire story, suppress urge, force self to post. Then try to ignore the sick feeling. Because I'm sure it's fine.

Oh you have to read The Dark is Rising at Christmas, it's the law! Although to be honest, I usually read a few pages and then realise just how many times I've read it before and that I virtually know it off by heart. Still, I shall give it a go.
