Week in the life of me, vol. 2

The rules

These times are a bit out of wack, unless I can get from the park to my desk in one minute. Which I can't.

08.47 -- witches' stones

09.59 -- wolsey gallery

12.47 -- my unfortunate desk

14.30 -- the invasion begins

14.34 -- work, round the back

14.35 -- dockland development

18.39 -- town gate

19.40 -- bed. the most beautiful thing ever created

Well done you! :)

And I found out who put the pineapples up. It was Edmund Withypoll, son of Paul Withypoll, successful London merchant, art patron and member of parliament. He bought the land, previously the site of an Augustinian priory, in 15-humphety-hum, after it was seized by the crown following the dissolution of the monasteries.

People who visited the mansion after it was built included Liz 1, Charles 2 (who did bowling), Albert (Prince), and some farm animals. None of their opinions on pineapples are known.

Ah, but the pineapple was the consummate symbol of hospitality among the upwardly mobile, so there you have it. Totally fits!
