eeh, I'm that tired...

Well. I've now got Internet Explorer to work in a wonky and wrongheaded fashion (more than usual, I mean), but there's obviously quite a lot not right with mr computer at the mo and it is somewhat tiring, so I might take a bit of a break from trying to beat him into submission. I think it's something to to with internet explorer script errors, although whether that's anything to do with the Firefox debacle is anyone's guess. I shall just have to pray for the magic computer fixing fairy to come in the night.

Until we meet again, flist, I love you all madly with the force of a thousand burning suns, and will be lurking in the background, muttering softly into my tea.

Re: tea

I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed comments to my three-word tea post. Sadly, I can't really be fucked to answer all twelve comments individually, but let it be known that all the various details, poems, noises of agreement and dissent etc, were much appreciated.

I would also like to wish a very happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] _peapod! :)

As you were.

PEDW Day 2

Well, I'm here. Posting. Every day. Sadly, I have nothing at all to say, but that's the risk you run with Post Every Day Week.

I didn't even have breakfast. Only tea. Having breakfast is beyond my capabilities as a human being, sadly. I don't know how you breakfast-eaters manage it.

Things that happened today included me breaking three nails all at once opening the freezer lid.

The weather is being cold and strange.

That's all. I'll be back tomorrow.

PEDW, Day 6

Better get a post in now, as I'll be out all day. But what to talk about? My last communication was a matter of hours ago - since then very little has happened. I was asleep for most of it. And breakfast this morning was, amazingly, a cup of tea.

I'll probably pick up something to eat at the station.

Also, am running out of reading material. Will pick up something at the station.

I'd like to grow some herbs this year.

I'm thinking of attempting to wear more dresses this summer.

GAAAH I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY!!

Today is already crappier than yesterday. My desktop seems to have suffered some sort of catastrophic failure, and I have tea all over my leg. I refuse to change my trousers because these are the only work-suitable ones that really fit. I maintain that all these things are due to it not being my birthday any more.

Graaaaahh

Ahh, days off. Overslept and had to open the door to nice young Tesco delivery man in ratty dressing gown. Never mind. It occurs to me that I possibly shouldn't be embarrassed about this, considering I was persuaded to sign up to Match.com last night and my profile reads: I like reading gay porn on the internet... Well, start as you mean to go on, I say. Ooh, I just got 'winked at' by someone. He likes aubergines! I like aubergines!

Oh, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who added me to their holiday/Christmas card/fic filters. I decided not to do any of that stuff this year, mainly because I'm too lazy and don't have time, so I didn't want to sign up to anyone else's without having anything to offer in return. But I really appreciate it. :)

Hmm, I think maybe I'm still asleep. A cup of tea, perhaps. Yes.

ps. I still love SGA. I need icons really.

ETA: Just in case you were in any doubt, I was in the ratty dressing gown, not the delivery man. Although I really think they should do that! It would make people who've overslept feel better when they answer the door.

tch.

I want to smash something. Only in a very vague sort of way, obviously. And then, you know, smashing stuff invariably leads to having to clean stuff up, doesn't it? Hm. Maybe I'll have a cup of tea instead. I dunno. Do I really want tea?

See, this is the sort of mood I'm in tonight.

*waves to [livejournal.com profile] lazlet*

If in doubt about anything, ever, my advice to you is: talk to [livejournal.com profile] lazlet. In fact that's my advice even if you're not in doubt about anything. But particularly I would advise talking to her before you throw quite a lot of money down the flippin' drain.

Oh, good thing though: I saw a shelduck the other week. It was quite close up and it eyed me with its eyes. No one managed to get a picture of it though, which is rather a shame. But I got pictures of seals! That's good, isn't it?

I'm not at all sure I can write any more. This is a right bugger.

I have got a headache.

Everything is stupid. Grrr.

hi

You know how sometimes, you've had a lovely week off work, and you go back, feeling all relaxed and refreshed, and you suddenly find yourself tipped headfirst into a bubbling cauldron of hot, boiling insanity? Yeah well... you know, just in case anyone was wondering why I haven't posted about my divine weekend with the lovely peoples. For now I will just confirm that it was divine and they were lovely. *waves to all*

Anyway, I've had about enough of today really, so i'm just going to lurk around quietly for a bit and hopefully catch up with myself and everyone else soon.

*makes a big hot cuppa for the London folks, who've had a hell of a day, poor loves*

ps. finally finished HBP. Blythe, Jayest, Circe - you can go ahead and talk now. ;)

Bits of fic

Oh, I'm faffing. Off to London in a bit to meet with some of the lovely peoples. YAY! But just at the moment I don't know what to do with myself. I keep changing my outfit every time the sun goes in. I think I'll have a cup of tea.

Ah, that's better. Got me tea.

Right, so, in the interests of the cleaning out of closets, I thought I'd post some bits of fic what are never going to get finished. Because ... I feel like it. Not because I'm slightly worried I might never write anything again, and I'm desperately clinging to the tattered shreds of the old posting-fic-on-lj-and-getting-feedback lifestyle to which I'd become accustomed, like some sort of latter-day slashy Norma Desmond. No. That's not the reason at all. I don't expect anyone to be particularly interested - it's hardly what I'd call satisfying reading - but well, it's here if you want it. Maybe it'd be good for people with very limited concentration spans, seeing as how some of it's less than a paragraph long.

Bits of fic )

Now I'll be going, as I've got to have some lunch before I go off to London to meet the lovely peoples and probably along the way acquire some book or other ... I forget the name. After I've read it I intend to post the entire plot in great detail for you all.

Oh, I'm kidding. Cuh! You lot! Eh? Tch! I mean ... as if! I'm far too lazy to post anything about it at all, even behind a cut.

oh em gee I found a site full of sweeties! Thing is, I don't actually like sweets all that much. They make my mouth hurt. Still, excited for nostalgia reasons. I particularly recommend the 'Boiled Sweets' section, it is most excellent. And they've got chocolate 'cigarettes'! Or 'sticks' as they're now called. Sticks... wrapped in paper... in cigarette packets. Yeah.

Haha, my old boss J rang me up to beg me to come back and work for them, implying that they'd match the package the new people had offered me. Um, yeah, TOO LATE BITCH! Ha. Then I got a letter from my old studio manager S, apologising for J's behaviour and assuring me that my job will be open for me to take back until ooh, approximately the end of time. I'll just be over here enjoying my in-demand-ness until I actually have to start the new job and inevitably fall flat on my face. :)

Dyed my hair again. Weather is mucho crap. That is all.

EAT: I just have to edit to include a link to this other fab site, to which I was directed by [livejournal.com profile] rochefort - Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down. Great biscuit section.

ETA: AHAHA, EAT?? Hellooo, calling Mr Freud...

Meeting with remarkable slashers

On Thursday last, I (along with several others) was pleased to dine at the residence of the redoubtable [livejournal.com profile] clara_swift and family, where I witnessed the remarkable ability of the younger Master Swift to turn his ears inside out, so resembling those of an elf. We later played parlour games, and I failed miserably at a fiendish amusement in which the players are required to match famous actors up according to the moving pictures in which they have acted together. (This despite the kind efforts of the elder Master Swift and the lovely Miss Swift, who read out the answers to me from under the table). My team, however, later proved the victors when it came to Trivial Pursuit (children's version). Indeed, the Swifts are most excellent hosts, and I must thank them for a very delightful evening.

Then, just yesterday, it was my pleasure to receive into my humble abode the ever-charming [livejournal.com profile] lobelia321, along with the elder Master Sackville-Baggins. We lunched on the patio, due to the clemency of the weather, and the conversation proved lively and amusing. Later, we visited a famed example of local architecture, drank coffee at a rather questionable establishment, and accidentally went on an unplanned tour of the outlying areas of the town, for which example of my regrettable woolly-headedness I must once again apologise to the lady in question, whose excellent company it was my honour to entertain for the day.

[/early nineteenth century]

I have signed up for this two lines challenge thingy. Maybe this will spur me into actually finishing something. Just lately, I seem to have fallen into this trap of having an apparently brilliant-wow-genius idea, writing a page/paragraph/sentence (the actual amount written is getting increasingly smaller) and then having another brilliant-wow-genius idea, which this time is really brilliant, no it is, not like that last one which turns out, now I think about it, to be rubbish, and must therefore be abandoned in disgust. Almost all the ideas seem to be for weird historical AUs, or pointless spoofs, or hopeless origfic.

*beats up own brain*

Ah, well. Such is life. Farewell, friends. I go, with trepidation, to the word-processing application. But maybe I'll just have another cup of tea first. Or, I need to make some icons. And there's some ironing that needs doing...

Inconsequential fluff

Today I had morning tea and afternoon coffee, which is of course utterly bad and wrong.

I was looking through some stuff earlier and found the first thing I wrote in this fandom. It was Domlijah, and it never got finished, mainly because I thought the characterisation was shot to bits. But rereading it, it didn't seem quite as bad as I remembered, so I finished it (after a fashion) and rejigged it a bit, and thought I may as well post it in here, just in case anyone's really bored. :) It's more of a snippet than anything.

Happy new thing

Have overdosed on tea made in the new teapot I got for Christmas. Ah, tea, how I love you.

Am off soon to party somewhere in the dark frozen wastes of East Anglia with I know not whom. Hmmm... New Year and me have a nasty habit of not mixing. I should probably stay in bed. Well, we shall see.

In other news
Why can I not write a fic without someone or everyone getting completely, mind-shatteringly drunk out of their tiny little skulls? Well, except DIR stuff where they started on lemonade and moved on to tea. I fear they will all be drunk in the next one.

Oh well. I blame Elijah.
